GJDC

WE WEAR THE CROWN

Courtney Palmore

Instructor/Choreographer

Hey, dance family! I am Miss Courtney. I began dancing at the age of 2. I trained locally until I found my home at GJDC where I danced for 10 years and was a part of the GJDC Company Team. I have studied ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, baton, lyrical, contemporary, acrobatics, hip hop, modern, aerial arts, dance composition, dance history, and dance film production. I have attended competitions, conventions, and conferences all along the East Coast, earning several dance scholarships, overall titles, and team awards while also excelling as a USAG JO gymnast. I went to Thomas Dale High School’s Specialty Center for the Arts where I was a member of the SCDC. This program allowed me to dance and choreograph in many annual performances. It also allowed me to travel and enhance my training under renowned instructors and choreographers. I also choreographed,  directed,  produced, and danced in a dance film featured in the 2019 Spring Dance Concert.  Additionally, I was on Thomas Dale’s cheerleading team, serving as varsity captain my last 2 years. I won a national title as a UCA All-American cheerleader and was awarded the opportunity to participate in London's New Year's Day Parade. I recently graduated from Christopher Newport University with a major in Environmental Science and a minor in Dance. At CNU, I was on the CNU Storm Dance Team, performing at home games and competing nationally for NDA collegiate titles in Daytona Beach, FL. I also performed in and choreographed for the university’s annual Spring Dance Concerts. Besides being a proud member of the GJDC staff, I am also an Environmental Engineer for Chesterfield County. I am thrilled to be back to inspire and encourage dancers as they progress through their own dance journeys!
