Hi!  I’m Miss Karen and so thrilled to begin my 8th season at GJDC.  I began my dance training at the age of three in Richmond and it has been an integral part of my life ever since.  Through the years I have enjoyed the opportunity to teach dancers of all ages in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap and lyrical.   I had many performance opportunities with the Richmond Ballet, Richmond Ballet Contemporary, Concert Ballet of Virginia and Norfolk Ballet.  My dance studies included Virginia Commonwealth University, Tidewater Academy of Ballet and the Richmond Ballet Adult Program.  I am honored to be the Ballet Mistress at GJDC and love teaching the ballet and pointe classes, working with our younger students and the Competition Team.  When I’m not busy with dance, my favorite times are with my daughter's family, especially with my two grandchildren and gardening!  I am looking forward to the upcoming season and am truly blessed to be able to share the joy of dance with our wonderful students!!
